Chris Johnson - the case for MVP
The Tennessee Titans have a player that is unlike anything NFL defenses have seen in a long time. Chris Johnson is an incredible athlete, having an incredible season. The Titans are currently 6-7 which is the exact reason Johnson deserves the award. Does anyone else mean more to their team than Chris Johnson? What would the Titans be without him? You could say the same for Payton Manning or Drew Brees but there is a vast difference. Those teams would be somewhat contenders without those two guys. I AM NOT saying that Jim Sorgi could lead the Colts to super bowl (which I suspect Manning will do this year) but I do think that both these quarterbacks have an artillery of weapons that surpasses that of any NFL team. As for the Titans, they have weapons in the shop, being slowly put togehter, but Chris Johnson is a nuclear bomb. Week after week the 5'11 running back runs through, over and under defenses with ease. It is nearly impossible to measure his (Johnson) value to the team. Is that not what the award is based off of? Shouldn't it go to the player who is most VALUABLE to their respective team? The one they cant live without? Based on their undefeated record, I think the Saints and Colts could surive without their QBs I say again, they would be nowhere near the calliber they are, but Chris Johnson is the Titans most valuable player hands down. They could not live without him, and when a player is that valuable don't they deserve the most VALUABLE player award?
Tiger's game wont change
Lately, the story of the infidelity of Tiger Woods has been the top story in all the major types of media. As it is, at the moment on this blog. it all started on the Day after Thanksgiving, when Tiger wrecked his SUV oddly leaving his house at 2:30 am. It was reported that Woods was taken to the hospital and put in the intensive care unit, it seemed like only minutes later, he was reported to be "fine." That is where the story starts developing its biggest holes. Where was he going? What was he doing? Etc.... For weeks now the media outlets and "blogosphere" have been asking these questions, but this particular section of the "sphere" would like to ask another question. Who Cares? The situation the Woods are currently dealing with is nobody's buisness but their own. Leave them alone. Everyone wants to know what will happen to his golfing career, Ill tell you right now without any doubt what will happen to his golfing career. He has been, is and will continue to be the greatest golfer ever to play the game. His infidelity cant do a thing about it either. Was what he did wrong? 100 percent. Will it change his athletic ability? Not in the slightest. He may lose a few loyal fans, but look at these examples; Kobe Bryant, every fan of the Lakers and the whole NBA for that matter loves this man. He is one of the greatest players ever and his alleged rape case did nothing but blemish his record a tad. Or take Ray Lewis, one of the most dominating defensive players football has ever seen. He was on trial for the murder of two people, and Ravens fans still wear his jersey every Sunday. The truth is, Tiger made a terrible, terrible mistake that is in now way justifiable, but golf lovers will still root for him when he breaks out the red shirt on Sundays.
Crying Shame
Tebow Criticized for crying
When the Florida Gators lost the SEC championship to the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday, Tim Tebow, cried on the sidelines. Since then , Tewbows critics, especially Alabama fans have criticized him for this, saying things like “Tim Tebow for CRIESman” and “Alabama: 32:13,” referring to the bible verses Tebow writes on his eye black during his games. Let me ask one thing; ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How, how in the world can you criticize Tebow for simply showing some emotion for his team? He wasn’t simply crying for himself, but for his team. Tebow, being in my opinion the greatest college football player ever, didn’t lose a lot. He was crying because he felt like he had let down the team. He felt like it was his sole responsibility that the Florida seniors did not have a chance for another national title, which it clearly was not. After the storied career this man has had at his institution, he has every right in the world to cry. He has one game left with the gators and coach Meyer after being with them for four straight years. Tebow loved Florida, he loved his team mates, he loved the fans, but most of all he loved the game, he loved with a more fiery passion than the world has ever seen. His four years at Florida, Tebow showed nothing but class, but as is with any person under the scrutiny of media, he got criticized, I can honestly say that he did not deserve one single word of criticism. Some went as far as to say he was “Too good” that spending his vacations with prisoners and poor foreign people was all an act, I don’t buy that. In a sports world covered with corruption, where some of the greatest athletes are squandering the opportunities given to them, Tim Tebow is a light in the darkness. I believe that Tim Tebow cherishes every blessing bestowed upon him, and uses that blessing to help other people. That is why Tim Tebow is my hero. No, not because of anything he did on the field, he is my hero because of the type of person he is, how he listens to gods plan for him and fulfills it to the best of his abilities, unlike some of our athletes today, who simply think they run the world. Tim Tebow is my hero because through what he has done he has set an example for all people, not just athletes, he has shown that you can accomplish anything, so long as you don’t care who gets the glory. Tim Tebow is my hero, and no, I am not a Florida fan.
